Medication Queries around Coronavirus

The practice is following currently following Department of Health guidelines on the issue of medication.

Please do not ask for additional months of medication or try to order your medications early as we are unable to do this.

If you are self-isolating then you can request your medication online or over the phone. We would also suggest contacting the local pharmacies to arrange for your medication to be delivered.

We would not advise patients to stop or change any of their regular prescribed medication, including medication for blood pressure in order to try to reduce their risk of catching Coronavirus.

If you take a medication which lowers your immune system AND you have any symptoms of infection you should follow the advice given to you by your hospital specialist when you started on the medication. If they are not sure of this advice then please contact us to arrange to see a GP.

COPD and Asthma Rescue Packs

If you have never had a rescue pack before for your COPD or Asthma you do not need one to help you with coronavirus.

Advice for School

Please do not ask us for advice around attending school but visit the gov.uk website for information and advice. You can also check the latest information above if you are trying to work out if you need to self-isolate.

Advice for Work/ Fit Notes/ Isolation Notes

You can now get an isolation note directly from the NHS. There is no need to contact the surgery about this.

When answering the question:

Have you been told to stay at home?

For example, by official advice, NHS 111 or a healthcare professional.

Please remember that using the 111 coronavirus service at https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19/ and being told you should self-isolate counts as receiving official advice so you can answer yes. You do not need to receive this advice directly from us.

Please click on the link below to get your note.

Letters for Travel

We have decided as a practice that in the current circumstances we can't discuss individual requests for travel advice or letters.

Patients should check current travel advice on the gov.uk website and adhere to that.

If you will be making a travel insurance cancellation claim for health reasons then formal paperwork will be sent out out by your travel insurance company for the practice to complete if needed.
